Which update fits my BMW?

What is the BMW Road Map Europe WAY?

The BMW Road Map Europe WAY is the latest navigation system for newer BMW and MINI models with EntryNav2 or NBT EVO. If you want to update your BMW navigation system, the BMW map update WAY is the perfect solution. Unlike older systems such as PREMIUM or MOTION, WAY uses more modern map technology and is regularly updated with current road data, new traffic routes, and additional points of interest.

What is an FSC code and why do I need it?

The FSC code (Feature Software Certificate) is a vehicle-specific activation key from BMW. Without this code, a map update cannot be unlocked in the vehicle – the navigation system would not accept the new map material. The FSC code is generated based on your vehicle identification number (VIN) and is permanently valid. This means you can also use the same code for future updates, provided the map material belongs to the same navigation version.

How do I find out if my BMW has the WAY navigation system?
In the vehicle, go to: Navigation → Map → Settings → Version information. If it says "WAY", this update fits your vehicle.

What happens if I buy the wrong update?
The navigation system automatically detects whether the update is compatible. An incorrect update cannot be installed and will not cause any damage. When in doubt, simply send us your VIN – we will check the compatibility free of charge.

How long does the installation take?
Depending on the vehicle and the amount of data, the installation takes between 30 and 90 minutes. The vehicle does not need to be running – it is sufficient to switch on the ignition.

Is the FSC code also valid for the next update?
Yes – the FSC code remains permanently valid as long as it is for the same navigation system (WAY). You will not need a new code for future WAY updates.

Can I also install the update without a PC?
No. A Windows PC is required to prepare the USB drive. macOS is not supported.

How quickly will I receive the download link?
After receipt of payment and VIN verification, you will generally receive the download link and FSC code by email within a few hours.
